Situated in one of the world's biodiversity hotspots, Nagaland boasts abundant natural resources, a favorable climate, and rich mineral reserves. However, despite its potential, the state faces challenges such as poverty, lack of industrial development, and limited technological advancements.
To leverage the power of science, technology, and biotechnology for sustainable development, NIST was established in 2019 as a non-governmental, non-profit organization under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.
